How to use | Oak Whiskey Barrels!

One of my favorite pieces in our vintage collection is our Oak Whiskey Barrels. I had wanted some of these since my own wedding and was constantly on the hunt for them when I started this company. Lo and behold one day I was out yard sale-ing (yep that’s a word!) and I found 2 sitting out in someone’s yard who was, unfortunately for me, not having a yard sale. So I asked my ever amazing hubby, Spence, to go ask them about it! We were a little scared because all over their property they had “No Trespassing or you will be shot” sign, but luckily they turned out to be very nice people and sold us two of their barrels! Yay!

Anyways, I know that we all have grand plans of our wedding or other events, but sometimes it’s hard to see those plans come together. You may see a great piece of ours that you just have to have but maybe you are unsure on how to incorporate it into your event. Well that’s what we’re here for folks. Not only do we offer styling services for your event, but I am also going to give you some ideas on how to incorporate our rentals in a weekly blog post! You are welcome 🙂 This week we are helping you with how to use Oak Whisky Barrels! And since one of my favorite parts about collecting vintage and antique things is the history behind them, here is a link to the history of Oak Barrels. Apparently they were invented in 350 BC by the Celts! So there ya go you can go tell your parents, husband, wife, sister, etc you learned something new today 🙂

Ok ok let’s get to the inspiration! Here is one of my favorite ways to incorporate these barrels into your big day… as an altar! Wouldn’t this just be absolutely perfect for a fall wedding? With the apples, burgundy florals, and wood accents all mixed together? Stunning!

Another great way to incorporate barrels is to use them as focal point when you welcome your guests to your wedding! Use them to hold programs, florals, a welcome chalkboard, lanterns, etc! The possibilities are endless!

You could also use our barrels as a cake table, or put two together and make a dessert table! This has to be one of my favorite ways to use them. It is just so cool to mix the old rustic feel of an oak barrel and then contrast it with fresh, new, florals or desserts.

Or how about as a cocktail table for guests to mingle around like in this wedding…

Like I said earlier the possibilities with these gorgeous babies are endless. These are just a few examples to get the creative juices flowing 🙂 Make sure to contact us if you want to use our Oak Whisky Barrels or to have us help you incorporate them into your wedding! Stay tuned because next week we will be featuring a different vintage piece and how to use it! Have a good Friday and a happy weekend y’all!
